What students will do |
Students in my music class will first and foremost perform and be an active part of the music we encounter and the music making process. This will be as much of a hands on class as possible with classes working to create and perform music together. Students will learn and perform a wide variety of genres and actively describe and critique the music they encounter. One of the goals is to be as diverse as possible exposing children to all kinds of music even those they may have never heard before.

Expectations |
First and foremost the most important thing is that each student do the best they can. Participation will be the highest factor in considering their grades and will also ensure that they get the most out of this class. In class I am sure we will encounter many levels of ability and experience with music. However, if students come with an open mind and a willingness to learn, I am positive they will all do well in my class. Important: Students in grades 3-5 need to have a notebook with music staff paper or staff paper in a section of their binder to transcribe music in class. This will be a factor in their grade for music.
